Gear oil change

Have 45000 on car w 5 speed ,i know Fiat says lifetime ? For gear oil , I'm not comfortable with that.Can I get some advice,gear oil weight?capacity and any tips appreciated!

When you say gear oil by that you mean transmission/transaxle fluid? If so, I swapped mine out for Royal Purple Syncromax. I've been happy with it. The shifting seems smoother and more assured. I know a couple guys with our cars that use it. The total capacity was just under 2 liters.....around 1.8 or so. Hope that helps.
